Same format in, same format out
A JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG and a WebP stays a WebP, so transparency in PNGs is kept and photos don't balloon into large PNG files. JPG and WebP are saved at 92% quality. Other formats, such as GIF or BMP, are saved as PNG.
Making images bigger
You can enter dimensions larger than the original, but the browser can only stretch the pixels that are there, so the result will look softer. Resizing down always looks good. If you also need a smaller file, the Image Resizer & Compressor lets you lower the quality at the same time.
