Check the preview, then click Download PDF File.
This copies the text, not the slides
Each slide becomes one landscape A4 page with a Slide 1, Slide 2 heading and the slide's text underneath, one paragraph per line, in reading order. If a slide has more text than fits, it continues on an extra page marked as continued. Pictures, charts, backgrounds, colours and layouts are not included, and neither are speaker notes.
That makes it useful for reading, reviewing or translating the words of a deck. It is not a way to get a PDF that looks like the presentation.
Need a PDF that looks like the slides?
PowerPoint can do that itself with File, Export, Create PDF. In Google Slides, choose File, Download, PDF document. Keynote has File, Export To, PDF. All three keep the design exactly.

No, only .pptx. Open a .ppt file in PowerPoint or Google Slides and save it as .pptx first.
Are speaker notes included?
No, only the text on the slides.
Is my presentation uploaded?
No. The file is read in your browser and the PDF is made on your device.
