How frames are put together
All frames in a GIF share one size, so the canvas takes the width and height of your largest image and smaller images are centred on a white background. Every frame is shown for the same delay, and the finished GIF loops forever. To change the frames, clear them and select the images again.
For a smooth result, use images that are all the same size, such as screenshots from the same screen.
GIF limits worth knowing
GIF frames can only hold 256 colours each, so photos with smooth gradients, like skies, can look slightly grainy or banded. Drawings, screenshots and simple graphics look best. Big images and many frames make big files and take longer to encode, so resize large photos to around 800 pixels wide first. Transparency isn't kept; empty areas become white.
